Caneyl Carter, M.S., CCC-SLP, CBIS, is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist who has been an integral part of the FDH team since 2015. She provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and therapy services to children, adolescents and adults with speech-language and cognitive-communication deficits. Caneyl received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2008 from the University of Northern Colorado and her master’s degree in speech-language pathology in 2015 from Oklahoma State University. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed in the state of Arizona in speech-language pathology. She also holds an Arizona Department of Education certificate. Her combined background of elementary education and speech-language pathology make her a sought after therapist as she possesses a deep understanding of language and cognitive skills related to academic success. She has a strong special education background being part of a multidisciplinary evaluation team (MET) in various school settings. She is also experienced in conducting independent educational evaluations (IEE) with the FDH team. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) through the Brain Injury Association of America. Her experience and interest lie in treating memory, attention, auditory processing and pragmatic language deficits. In her spare time she enjoys baking, going to the movies, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
