Lauren Besonen, SLPA, has been a practicing therapist who has been providing services to the pediatric population since 2016. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education. She then moved to Arizona in 2006 to become a 1st/2nd grade ELD teacher. She left the classroom in 2013 to get her 2nd Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education through Utah State University.
Lauren made the decision to leave teaching to change careers and become a speech therapist because of her own personal experience as a young child. She was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech at the age of two and continued receiving services through early elementary school. Lauren feels that she has the ability to personally connect and understand her clients and what they are going through. She services pediatric clients in the clinic, school, and home health settings.
She enjoys painting, reading, hiking and practicing yoga in her free time. She also loves spending time with her husband and their two Shar-Pei dogs.
